Drexel University ChatGPT is an institutionally supported artificial intelligence (AI) conversational service that assists members of the Drexel community with academic, research, teaching, and administrative tasks. The service enables users to generate and refine text, explore ideas, summarize information, and receive contextual explanations using natural language prompts.
Drexel University ChatGPT is intended to enhance productivity and support learning while maintaining alignment with University policies, data protection requirements, and academic integrity standards. With ChatGPT Edu, Drexel data is not used to train the model, and enterprise-level security measures make it safer to use than personal accounts.
Use of this service is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy (IT-01) and other applicable University policies. - Access to the latest GPT-5.2 Instant model — optimized for fast, high-quality responses appropriate for everyday academic use (fast drafting, summarizing, brainstorming, etc.).
- Secure educational workspace — Conversations and data in ChatGPT Edu aren’t used to train public OpenAI models.
- Higher usage/message limits than the free consumer ChatGPT experience, allowing extended interactions for coursework, research, or multi-session tasks.
- Brainstorming, drafting, and revision support for academic writing, reports, grant proposals, teaching materials, and administrative documents.
- Integration with DrexelConnect providing SSO authentication.

Getting Started
Access Drexel ChatGPT Edu Workspace
Please be aware:
- Access to Drexel University ChatGPT is removed when a user separates from the University and is no longer eligible for Drexel IT services.
- Users should save any non-sensitive work products prior to account deactivation, as access cannot be restored once removed.
Guidelines and Security Considerations
Prior to entering Drexel's ChatGPT Edu workspace, please be advised:
- ChatGPT Edu should be used primarily for teaching, learning, research, and University business.
- Do not enter sensitive information or data that Drexel must protect by law, contract, or policy as defined in the ChatGPT Edu Terms of Use. Protected health information (PHI), especially, is strictly prohibited from being entered. When unsure whether information is sensitive, do not enter it and seek guidance.
- For all university-related tasks, be sure to use your Drexel credentials to sign into the ChatGPT Edu workspace rather than a personal ChatGPT account. This ensures you have access to the university’s enhanced features, higher data privacy standards, and academic-focused optimizations—helping you get the most out of ChatGPT while keeping your work secure and aligned with university guidelines.
