ResNet provides high-speed Internet access to students living in University housing. All residence halls and fraternity and sorority housing locations offer Wi-Fi through the DragonFly3 wireless network. Some residences also provide wired Ethernet access.

Connect to ResNet wired Ethernet
If your residence supports ResNet wired Ethernet, follow these steps:
- Connect your computer to an active Ethernet jack in your bedroom or common room. The active jack is typically the lower-left (or lower) port on the wall plate.
- Not every Ethernet jack is active. Check the list of active network jacks to identify the correct port.
- Open a web browser. You'll automatically be redirected to the network onboarding page.
- Follow the prompts to configure your device for 802.1X authentication or register your device.
- Sign in with your Drexel username and password to complete setup.
You only need to complete this process once unless you change your Drexel password. After your device is configured, it can connect to any active Ethernet jack in supported residence halls.
Game consoles and streaming devices
The following wired devices connect automatically and don't require configuration or registration:
- PlayStation
- Xbox
- Nintendo Switch
- Roku
- Apple TV
- Fire TV
If you change your password
Your wired network configuration remains valid until you change your Drexel password. After changing your password, repeat the setup process to update your saved credentials.
Tip: If you're prompted for your Drexel username and password each time you connect, your password was likely entered incorrectly during setup. Repeat the configuration process and carefully enter your password when prompted.
Prohibited network devices
The following personal networking devices aren't permitted on the Drexel network:
- Routers
- Switches
- Wireless access points
- Wireless bridges
- Wi-Fi extenders
These devices violate the Acceptable Use Policy because they interfere with the performance and security of the Drexel network and can degrade wireless service for nearby residents.
Fraternity and sorority housing
Students living in fraternity and sorority housing have access to DragonFly3 wireless Internet and XFINITY on Campus streaming television.
ResNet wired Ethernet and telephone service aren't available at these locations.
