Removing Old/Cached Email Addresses from Outlook Auto-Complete
The IT ticketing application has been changed to a new product, TeamDynamix. Due to this change, the drexel email addresses that used to forward mail to the old system (Remedyforce) are now sending to our new system. However, some users may have the old addresses cached in the auto-complete function of their mail account. So when the user starts to type the email address of the team they want to contact, the mail client will suggest an address it has used before. Unfortunately, Microsoft Exchange has in some cases remembered the forwarding address rather than simple the drexel address:

You can remove these suggested emails by clicking the 'X' next to them when they pop up as in the picture above. This Microsoft article explains a number of different ways that you can adjust and maintain the addresses that your Outlook client will auto-suggest: The Outlook AutoComplete List
Steps To Remove an AutoComplete Address
- Open a new email message.
- Type the first few characters of the AutoComplete entry that you want to remove.
- When the entry appears in the list of suggestions, move your mouse pointer over the suggestion until it becomes highlighted, but don't select it.
- When the X icon appears next to the highlighted suggestion, select X to remove the entry from the list, or press the DELETE key on the keyboard.

Selecting X prevents the name entry from appearing in the AutoComplete list again but doesn't remove it from your account. The entry might still appear in other areas in Outlook, such as search boxes.
