Data Request Turnaround Times
We strive to deliver your data as quickly as possible. Turnaround time depends on the type of request you are submitting and the level of effort required to fulfill it.
Data Refresh Requests
Estimated turnaround: 3 business days
A data refresh is appropriate when you are requesting the exact same data as a previous request and only need the information updated with the most current records. Because the original query already exists, these requests can typically be completed quickly.
Examples include:
- Solicitation or acknowledgement lists
For example, refreshing a list of constituents who meet specific criteria to ensure addresses are current or to exclude individuals who have given since the original run.
- Recurring reports (quarterly, semiāannual, or annual)
If the output remains the same and the criteria needs to slightly updated (eg. the fiscal year needs to be changed) this is considered a refresh.
New Data Requests
Estimated turnaround: 7 business days*
New data requests include:
- Requests that have not been run before
- Partial refreshes (e.g., refreshing a list and adding new search criteria or output fields)
- Requests that require new logic, filters, or calculations
Because these requests require additional development and validation, they take longer than a standard refresh.
New or Modified Reports (Advance or Tableau)
Estimated turnaround: 20 business days**
Requests to build a new report or make significant changes to an existing report in Advance or Tableau generally require more time for design, development, testing, and validation.
* Timelines may be extended if the initial request is incomplete. If clarification is needed, the team will contact you, and the timeline will begin once all required information is received.
** Additional time may be required for highly complex requests or those that require coordination with Institutional Advancement, DUIT, or external vendors.
‡ Additional time may also be required if the necessary data is not available in Advance and must be sourced from Banner, AIS, or other systems.
