Note: VPN connection requires multifactor authentication (MFA). Learn how to set up MFA.
Install Cisco Secure Client for Mac
- Go to vpn.drexel.edu and select Login.
- At the Microsoft 365 sign-in page, sign in with your Drexel account and verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication.
- Select Download for macOS.
- Once the download has completed, double-click the downloaded installer.
- Double-click cisco-secure-client-macos.pkg (the name might vary slightly).
- On the first installation screen, select Continue to begin the installation process.
- Review the license agreement. Select Continue and then select Agree to agree to the license terms.
- Select Install to begin the installation.
- Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then select Install Software.
- Select Close when the installation is finished.
Connect to VPN
- Go to Finder > Applications > Cisco > Cisco Secure Client.
- Enter vpn.drexel.edu and then select Connect.
Tip: Cisco Secure Client will remember the VPN server address so you won't need to enter it again.
- At the Microsoft 365 sign-in page, sign in with your Drexel account and verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication.
Disconnect from VPN
Best practices advise to always disconnect when you no longer need to access the internal Drexel network.
Disconnect from Cisco Secure Client
- Open Cisco Secure Client and select Disconnect.
Disconnect from the menu bar
- In the menu bar, select the Cisco Secure Client icon and then select Disconnect.
