OVERVIEW OF SERVICE
Camtasia is an application that facilitates the capture, editing, and production of multimedia for online delivery, especially for content delivered in Drexel Learn. This software is available for Windows and MacOS computers. There are slight differences in the features available between the two platforms, but the core functionality and user interface are very similar.
DESCRIPTION & FEATURES
- Record whatever is displayed on your screen (PowerPoint or other presentations, websites, applications, etc.)
- Record audio from a connected microphone as well as system audio
- Record video from a connected webcam
- Capture PowerPoint presentations with a click
- Emphasize and elaborate with callouts
- Highlight Web site/application interaction
- Add transitions, animations and effects for sophisticated-looking videos
- Measure retention using embedded questions and SCORM-compliant LMS (e.g.: Drexel Learn)
- Make content accessible with closed captioning
Eligibility
Faculty, Professional Staff
Rates
After completion of required training, Camtasia is freely available to Drexel Faculty and Staff. Students or Faculty/Staff wishing to purchase their own license can do so at a discount from Techsmith's website.
GETTING STARTED
The Instructional Technology Group (ITG) of Drexel IT holds a limited number of licenses and requires that online training be completed before licensed installation.
